Project Overview
In 2022, Romano Glass completed a refined glass balcony installation in Bondi Junction, Sydney, contributing to the architectural identity of a contemporary residential building defined by openness and panoramic views.
The intervention focused on the balconies of the development, where transparency and visual continuity were essential. The objective was to create a protective system that would guarantee safety without interrupting the relationship between interior spaces and the surrounding skyline.
Design & Material Approach
The project featured frameless glass panels with minimalist profiles, carefully selected to ensure lightness, clarity and architectural coherence. The reduced visual impact of the fixings allows the glass to perform as a subtle boundary rather than a dominant element.
Each panel was precisely measured and fabricated to follow the building’s soft curves, preserving the fluid geometry of the façade. The transparency of the system enhances natural light penetration while maintaining uninterrupted views across Bondi and towards the Sydney horizon.
Installation & Architectural Integration
The installation required meticulous alignment and structural precision. Working across multiple balconies within an active residential environment, the Romano Glass team ensured seamless integration with the building’s concrete framework and finishing details.
The result is a balcony system that feels almost invisible — a transparent architectural layer that protects while elevating the spatial experience. Rather than enclosing the space, the glass amplifies it.
This project reflects Romano Glass’ commitment to delivering custom architectural glass solutions where design sensitivity and technical expertise meet. In Bondi Junction, the balconies are not simply functional elements; they become part of a broader dialogue between structure, light and landscape.
